My Meooooooow experience!

As most of you know, I sacrificed myself and went ahead to book the first day slot in CAT such that i could write this blog and help you !! :(

First and fore-most, It was a day-mare or precisely cat-maric experience.

Prometric-NIIT guys sucked on the first day. (NIIT is partner in organizing these tests)

They don't know much. There experience in conducting exams is around the same level as tendulkar's in politics.

Things you need to take to exam center: PHOTO ID, VOUCHER AND (EMAIL) IIM Admit Card.

Anything else, you will be stripped of it. They provide pencils, erasers, rough sheets and timer is also there on screen.

Step1: Go to test center atleast 90 mins before the "appointment time".

Step2:Get yourselves "verified" (Photo-ID take a genuine one, some people got pained and ragged by the cat team. Genuine = PAN card, Driving License, Ration Card, Election card)

Step 3: Stand in line for Photo and biometric entries.

(Remember the Driving License office? -- you will be asked to sit in front of a camera, photo will be taken, then three times right hand finger imprints followed by three times left hand finger imprints)

Step 4: Collect rough sheet, pencil and erasers. And go to your assigned seat.

Step 5: Those guys will do everything, do nothing. They will come enter passwords, and go and come again and enter passwords again. And go again. You can read a "Rules and Regulations Gita - RAR veda" in the mean time. Its a collection of all the regulations from all the tests which a student takes in his lifetime.

Step 6: Exam time! After they finish typing passwords for all, they will announce and ask you to click on "start the exam" button on your screen

Step 7: Click on it.

Step 8: Questions 1-20 --> Quant, Questions 21-40 --> English/Passages, Questions 41-60 --> Data Interpretation

Step 9: You can GO to any question number by clicking "preview" and selecting the corresponding question number. ( :( I CAME TO KNOW THIS AFTER 1 Hour, so did bad in DI)

For Example: If you have attempted enough in quant and english, jump to DI by clicking preview and selecting questions from q41-60 which you haven't answered.

Step 10: Attempt all sections handsomely :)

Step 11: I saved 2-3 mins of your exam time and burnt 200 grams of your nervousness, I deserve a treat if you get through. :)

Our good old country is going for yet another general elections...

As usual, we have enough number of parties to talk about.

Well, I have read most of the manifestos and have almost decided who to vote for...

Criteria on which I selected these parties:

1) As this is not a state election I prefer to chose a national level party(atleast present in 8 states) over regional one. (or a regional partner of national one)

2) The leaders which they have.

3) Past performance.

4) Handling of ministries.

5) Party Ideology

The list of parties which are contesting from my constituency are:

a) TDP (Third front)
b) INC
c) BJP
d) CPI(M) (Third Front)
e) BSP (Third Front)

NCP/SP aren't contesting.

Also, voters are of three types:

1) farmers 2)Labour class 3)Educated class
The first two share a 80-90% vote share.

Voters can be of further types based on regional and religious sensitivity:
(a) Hindu (b) Muslim (c) Christian, Jains, Sikhs, etc etc. (d)Telanganites and andhrites.

After going through various manifesto's, I have put the pro's and con's of each party ...

a) TDP : THIRD FRONT

Plus on Leadership.

Minus on rebels issue.

Minus on Free TV with cable connection.

Plus on 35 kg rice/ wheat to BPL(below poverty line) people.

Plus on development(Past performance)

Neutral on farmer issues.

Neutral on minority issues.

Plus on Corruption tackling.

TDP is led by Chandra babu Naidu. It is also a part of third front. Although it got voted out in last elections, most of its policies had actually generated jobs in the congress regime as well. But lack of facilities to farmers is a big thumbs down in its past performance.

Farmers donot see any great incentives in the manifesto.
Labor class and Farmers can find free TV juicy. (Karunidhi scripted a win last year in TN based on this.)
Educated class has faith in his long term educational IT policies.

b) INC: (Indian National Congress)

Plus on leadership in AP.

Plus, 3Rs per Kg rice to BPL

Minus on national leadership.
(Manmohan is a perfect Finance minister, hardly a Prime minister.
Pranab mukherjee is all talk no work. P Chidambaram although good when it comes to new financial policies, should not be home minister.
Also, these three leaders cannot keep changing and rearranging portfolios among them selves)

Minus, Vote percentage share going down every year.

Minus, minority policies. (Over appeasement is the right word - amarnath, AP assembly MIM statement, POTA and Antulay's statement in parliament)

Minus, Inflation and now deflation.

Plus, Aarogya Shri - health insurance scheme. Minus, misuse.

Minus, NREGS -- led to labour deficiency for farmers.

Minus, Cash for Vote Scam

Plus, No Telangana.

Minus, Reservation based on religion (4% christians, 6% muslims)

Minus, Security and terrorism.

Plus, is there is more number of states, wider presence.

Minus, Swiss bank accounts !

Minus, Over and open corruption.

Minus, Political Killings in AP.

Minus, Karnataka Church attacks

Minus, Afzal Guru

c) BJP

Plus, National leaders. (LK Advani, Arun Jaitley, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Modi)

After reading all this I hope you can make a call on who to vote for....

My vote (mostly) goes to BJP because of one statement Murli Manohar Joshi gave after releasing manifesto, "We will take population control measures more seriously and rigorously."

Also I recommend people not to vote to regional parties simply because they have the habit of playing spoilsport.

A Tatkal ticket costs 150 more than normal ticket.

Now since, half is tatkal quota these days, the average amount of fare paid by aam aadmni as showed by revered sage laloo prasad yadav is false.

He shows fare calculated normally and doesnt add tatkal quota to his calculations fooling aam aadmi in the process.

Ideally, fares are 15%-40% higher now if you compare them with 2003. (In some cases because of small fare amount the tatkal charges are more than train fares)

Its been one year and i am still learning new things about Iphone 2g.

For all those people who think that Iphone cannot be used well in India... this post might change your view...

(I) Can I use it in India?

Yes, You can.
With any of the subscribers - Airtel, BSNL, Vodafone, Idea, Reliance, etc,etc.
All you have to do is unlock.

(II) How can I Unlock? Isn't it very costly??

Yes, You can.
There are virtually hundreds of hackers who are working overtime and free of cost to screw apple. They develop unlock software and keep it available for all of you guys.
Unlocking on your own is free of cost.
Unlocking on your own is risky, bu still it is hundred times better than getting it unlocked from the market where the guys(in India) hardly know anything more than the unlocking software.
Plus you save 3K (INR) by unlocking on your own.
And it helps you gain some good knowledge also in the process. :)

(III) I heard I can't update? so whats the point in using if we cant upgrade?

Yes, You can.
Iphone can be updated from time to time with caution.
There are procedures for updating an iphone if we are in india.

(IV) In India we hardly have wifi, so is an iphone really worth it?

Yes, It is.
Wifi use in India is negligible compared to US standards, where an Iphone surely makes a better deal.
But still there are hundreds of things in Iphone which make it a better phone than the ones which we have been using.

(V) Ok, So how do I unlock on my own?? Will Itunes not lock it if i reconnect?

Unlock Iphone 2g with latest firmware:

Here is the list of things you should download before unlocking your Iphone 2g.
(3g unlocking hasn't been done yet, and I use a 2g myself)

Itunes: Get the latest Itunes 8. Install it on your computer and get ready for update.

Three ways to UNLOCK(unlock process same for every country!)

~~~~FIRST METHOD: USING ITUNES and Quick PWN~~~~

Step I:

>Firmware:
An Iphone has firmware which apple keeps updating to fix bugs and all. This needs to be updated from time to time. Of course there is no hard and fast rule that one should update.

Connect to Itunes, connect your iphone, and click update. (I recommend this way, But if next update comes you might be in trouble, the second option of rapidshare links is the better)

Step 2:

Download the following stuff

(1) Bootloader 3.9 and 4.6 from the link: http://iphonefreakz.com/iphone-firmwares/
(2) Quick PWn 2.2. (http://www.quickpwn.com/2008/08/download-quickpwn.html)

Install Quick PWn2.2 on your computer and simply follow the instructions of quick PWN 2.2.

Step 3:

After following Quick PWN instructions(which might take a while), your phone is unlocked and ready to use!!

~~~~~~~~SECOND METHOD: USING cracked FIRMARE DOWNLOAD~~~~~~~~~~

Step I:

Download:
The latest firmware is 2.2 and can be downloaded from rapidshare, here are the links.

Step 2:

Open Itunes, connect you iphone, and right click on your iphone icon.
Select > Restore/backup option and select the downloaded file as backup.

Step3:

After Itunes finishes he process, you have an Unlocked iphone, ready to use. [:D]

P.S: In case an error 1604/1603/21 comes use the QUICK PWN software.

(3)IrealSms. (Cracked one: for SMS)(THROUGH INSTALLER or Cydia > add this source xsellize.com/cydia/)

(4) Itunes App store: For hundreds of free Apps.(just connect iphone and get started)

Google Under Attack!

For all those hardcore Google talk lovers...

Bad news and Good news...

Bad news is we have a crisis at doors...

gtalk id's slowly and steadily one after another are under attack...

Yes some genius has finally cracked gtalk and thrown it into the trash box of messengers, which can be and have been attacked by malwares and spywares.

The era of G talk untouchable by crackers and hackers for spamming is over... and this is just the beginning...

The Problem:

Any yahoo user would know the problem... you get a message from anonymous sender about some xyz site and xyz stuff... and once you click onto those sites you indirectly allow spywares into your computer....

Well the master genius in case of gtalk is one step ahead... The message never comes from anonymous sender... its always from a pal in your friends list.

This is how the message looks like:

(Please dont click it, i have edited it a bit to avoid any chances of your hands slipping by mistake, mouse button being pressed in the process and the doomed link getting access to your computer and ofcourse you being totally unaware of it...)

So while we all crib for the gtalk lapse... Its good news for many hackers, crackes and computer nerds. The invincible is tamed.

We should appreciate the genius who managed to crack G talk finally, throwing open new challenges to Google team as well as to every cracker and hacker waiting to make money out of this lapse...

Note: If you are a Yahoo Patriot, then you can give a small demonic smile to every gtalker you meet., now both of you are sailing in the same boat...

The problem has just begun... hope the Google team solves it quickly before it becomes a devastating menace to Google's reputation...

My Experience with Truth....

Well... for all those ignorant indians who dunno what the title is... its the name of a very famous book(famous for gandhi fans :) ) written by the father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi.

And I have rightly chosen it as my blog title.

It's a simple story that might be common for some, obscure for others, truth for me.

Long long time ago....

Once upon a time.....

Two days ago to be precise....

I had a normal day at the office... like any other day....

I got up from my chair, looked at my computer screen, waited for it to show "Windows is shutting down"....

I sat down. I drank water from the bottle.

I got up. I signed in the register my 'out time'. I got down. I got down to the cellar. (thats where i park my car - b2)

As far as i think there was nothing unusual till here. Normal crap story.

Well it all began when I was driving back home...

I had a very bad accident. The experience was even worse than the accident.

It was one of the worst day (night) of my life...

12:05 AM , Out of nowhere did a bike come at full speed right in front of my car only to get dashed by my car.

I have got a good habit of seat-belt so i was saved from any kind of injury.

But the guy on bike was not so lucky... He ended by flying in the air and breaking quite a few bones in the accident.

But that was when the story began...

Since I was safe... I came out of my car and immediately checked for the health of the bike guy...

Thats where i got a shock... as the guy was struggling to get up... people gathered around and started asking me questions...

I was the "guy in car" who had hit the "poor guy on bike"...

The guy on bike was loosing blood and people were worried about how will he pay money and why was i driving on the road! Some took the liberty to ask me for money to keep quiet. While all this was happening the guy on the bike was still bleeding.

I somehow pushed the guys and asked the injured guy whether he was hurt anywhere. He was.

He had a fractured leg. And he needed immediate medical attention.

I shouted at the mob ready to engulf me because I was the "guy in the car". I said whoever wants to thrash me can sit in the car and thrash me after I get this guy to hospital.

I was worried, but I was right. Finally, the people now turned there attention to the guy who by now had lost enough blood. He was picked up by a few people and made to sit in the rear of my car.

Thank god. As he sat,he immediately spoke to me and told sorry since he realized that he came too sudden on to the road and had caused accident. He asked me to leave him there with his bike and go home. I couldnt as he was bleeding. I said I will leave you till the hospital, but he insisted on going home rather than a hospital.

I took him to his sisters home which was nearby.

As if the mob thing was not enough, the guys sister came out and started scolding him for getting another accident, followed by her mother-in-law who repeated the same things.

All these was happening when the guy was seriously bleeding. The sister took a mere 15 mins to change clothes apart from 10-15 mins of drama outside her house and get in car to take him to hospital. His husband was out and not lifting phone throughout this.

12:35AM. Finally he was admitted to the hospital. I felt relieved as nothing serious happened to him when he was with me. I waited for some time, gave the guys sister my details and went home.

But throughout this I felt ashamed at the way the guy's family treated the matter. They were more interested in scolding him than treating him for injuries.

But that was not enough trouble for a night, was it?

For being a good person, one has to pay the price.

I went home and told my father the complete thing. He called up the doctor who was taking care of the guy and confirmed the status. He got up and got ready for the drama which was to come.

Now comes the shocking part,

We went to the police station to find that I was accused in hit-and-run case of a poor painter boy.

I was to be arrested immediately. The case has been booked and the victim was seriously bleeding in ICU.

The victim's jija who had been missing throughout the drama had lodged the complaint.

According to the police, the case was very clear, I was the rich guy in car who hit the poor guy on the bike.

Shocked. Surprised. Jolted. Hit with lighting bolt.

The invisible jija knew exactly what had happened. I rammed the car into the bike breaking his bones.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

That was what exactly how I felt.

The victim was not even asked whether it was his mistake or not,

The victim's sister was not even asked whether there was anyone who had helped them,

The victim's sister's mother-in-law informed that he was admitted to hospital after being run-over-by-a-car.

We went to complain about the accident so that I could claim insurance for the damaged car.

I ended up as a criminal who had brutally run-over-a-poor-guy and dissappeared after the heinous act.

So this is how I ended up in police station. First police case filed against me, in my whole family I guess, in three generations, I guess.

But like all stories, this story too had a happy ending, the victim got consciousness and immediately stated that he was at fault and i was not negligent. I guess any indian couldnot lie on Gandhi Jayanti.

Case withdrawn with mutual settlement.

Had hickups when police personnel started demanding money for the whole case and when we found out that guy had no license when he was driving and insurance money for damage to car and guy will not be easily available if the guy had no license...

But thanks to senior police personnel who intervened in the case, explained to me and my family the full case at the end of the day, how it would not effect anything for me in future since the case was filed in haste by a relative, and how i need not pay a single penny to any police personel for the services renedered.

In the end, a good and bad example for me to learn and how to be more careful in future.

Tips for you:

1) In case of accident, make sure your first priority is saving lives.

2) In case people harass you, dont lose calm, stand tall, even if you are at fault be humble and accept it, and emphasis on saving life of the guy at all costs.

3) Please make sure you get contact details of atleast two-three witnesses on the spot of accident.(which I failed and hence the drama)

4) Try your best to be polite when talking to people in hospital, they take care of thousands of patients and you are no special god-gifted super-duper being to get special treatment. Be patient when in hospital. Those guys know what they are doing.

5) Dont believe the words of others in case of accident and try to get direct information from patient/victim. (As in my case, the victims mother was telling everyone in hospital that a rich guy had run over a poor guy)

6) Be polite to police personel, however harsh they appear to begin with, they will melt down and be more helpful.

In short, never lie, have failt in truth, its the harder way, but surely the rewards for standing by what is right will give strength to tackle any problem in future.

To finish off,

Gandhi: Whenever I despair, I remember that the way of truth and love has always won. There may be tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they may seem invincible, but in the end, they always fail. Think of it: always.

UPDATE: They are asking X lac''s because they are poor. Some lawyer promised them that he could get X lac's of rupees from us from this case and they obliged to him.

Hard Lesson I learnt: Never trust a poor person in accident cases if you are rich.
